Advertising Policy

Advertising on PetSale.com.au is done at the members own risk. Similarly, any transactions or contact with other members of PetSale.com.au is conducted entirely at your own risk.

Rules and regulations when placing an advertisement:

Please read through carefully, as pets, products and Business adverts are different sections on the website, and have different rules and regulations.

Selling requirements:

Complying with all the requirements listed below will significantly reduce the prospect of buyer dissatisfaction, and subsequently will minimise the likelihood of any disputes arising between buyer and seller.

1. Descriptions
   Responsibility for advertisements that appear on the PetSale.com.au rests solely with the user/seller that placed the notice. The seller must ensure that the advertisement details (heading, text, description, videos and images) accurately represent the item for sale. Any false, misleading or inaccurate descriptions will likely lead to buyer dissatisfaction. PetSale.com.au will cancel any advertisement in breach of these guidelines to avoid dispute.
2. Compliance with legislation
   It is the sellers responsibility to ensure that all pets, products and services advertised do not violate any law. Any known breach will result in removal of advertisement from PetSale.com.au and possible suspension or cancellation of membership.
3. Complying with intellectual property rights of third parties
   It is the sellers responsibility to ensure that the listed item does not breach any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights of any third party. Any known breach will result in removal of advertisement from PetSale.com.au and possible suspension or cancellation of membership.
4. Honoring Sale
   Listing an item is a commitment to sell. The seller cannot fail to deliver an item after payment has been accepted. The seller must not refuse to accept payment after a buyer has made the commitment to purchase product.
5. Ensuring that an item is not listed multiple times
   A seller must not list multiple advertisements for the same pet or product. This will result in cancellation of the duplicate advertisements.
6. Confidentiality
   The seller must not use any contact details of the buyer (Addresses, email addresses, phone numbers or other information capable of personally identifying the buyer).
7. Refunds
   The responsibility for any refund rests solely with the seller and their agreement with the buyer of a listed product. PetSale.com.au does not take any responsibility for refunds or payments/transactions between buyer and seller. Refer to the ‘Communication Policy’ for details on how buyers and sellers should interact.

Contact Details

Titles for advertisements may not include information such as names, street addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses. There are fields provided for these details when the listing is created.

Pricing

The pricing for advertisements is set out in detail when an advertisement is created.

Additional Charges

Pricing of advertisements must be inclusive of all charges i.e. GST and taxes.

Breaching any of the above policies may result in advertisement or membership cancellation without any notice to the member and no refund of fees charged to place advertisements.

Prohibited species or activities

PetSale.com.au bans the sale or advertising of certain species and illegal activities. If a user is uncertain about a listing, they must send their query to the ‘contact us’ link at the base of this page.

References to Third Party Organisations and Websites

PetSale.com.au is in place as an information communicator and welcomes businesses and sellers to advertise their products and services through the site. Sellers must not abuse this right and make reference to advertising with third party organisations or sites that offer similar trade. This rule has a zero tolerance policy and any person caught promoting other sites will be instantly banned without prior warning or notification. Should this occur, no refunds will be issued for cancelled advertisements.

Misrepresentation of pets or products

The pet or product listed must be described accurately and honestly in the advertisement. Advertisements must be placed in appropriate categories when listing is created and all keywords in the title or description of the product must be an accurate representation of the item for sale.

Intent to sell

Sellers listing a product must be prepared and willing to sell their pets or products at the time of placing their advertisement. Nothing must be advertised if it is not intended to sell.

Selling litters and multiple pets

You may sell multiple non-identical pets in one listing but with only one selling price. For different pricing, listings must be made separate for each animal. All pets in one listing must be for sale from one location.

Any breach of the above listed advertising rules and regulations will result in advertisement cancellation and account suspension.
